The Tommi Mäkinen Edition was a limited edition variant of the Mitsubishi Evolution VI. The Tommi Mäkinen Edition was created to celebrate Finnish rally driver Tommi Mäkinen's four consecutive World Rally Championship driver's titles. Also known as the TME, or Evo 6.5, this limited edition was offered in both RS and GSR trim levels, featured a distinctive front bumper, and was also the only Evo VI variant offered in red paint. While largely mechanically similar to standard Evolutions, TME cars featured lower ride height improved suspension, although the 2.0L turbocharged inline four remained the same. 2500 Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Editions were built, with production ending in 2001.
